Texas–Lyon Heritage Fellowship

Forming the next generation of leaders, scholars, students, and cultural partners who will carry the Texas–Lyon relationship forward.

Rooted in nearly two centuries of shared Catholic, educational, cultural, and humanitarian history, the Fellowship will support Texas-facing programs that build living connections between students, scholars, institutions, and cultural leaders in Texas and Lyon.

The Fellowship may include high school student exchanges, academic partnerships, cultural cultivation, leadership development, pilgrimage and study opportunities, and collaborative programming with schools, universities, dioceses, archives, museums, and cultural organizations.

Why the Fellowship Matters

The Texas–Lyon story should not remain only in archives, anniversaries, or historic sites. It should be passed on through people.

The Texas–Lyon Heritage Fellowship will help young people, educators, scholars, and cultural leaders understand this shared history and participate in its future. Through exchange, study, travel, research, and public programming, the Fellowship will make the relationship between Texas and Lyon visible, personal, and lasting.

The Texas Connection

For Texas donors, the Fellowship offers a direct way to invest in the future of the Texas–Lyon relationship.

It will support programs that connect Texas students, schools, universities, Catholic institutions, healthcare and cultural partners, and French-American organizations with Lyon’s rich heritage of faith, education, service, and social action.
